Lighting for the wedding, where to start

The choice of lights for a successful wedding includes 3 basic elements: the wedding style (elegant, country, shabby, industrial etc…), the budget available and the location with the different spaces to be illuminated.

Our job is to combine these three basic elements with the wishes and dreams of customers. The first thing to do is meeting the bride and groom, perhaps just during the inspection in the location that they have chosen for their day.

Location indoors or outdoors, which lighting setup?

For the outdoors location is possible creating any kind of light setting, thanks to the use of load-bearing structures and sceneries built to realize the wishes of the bride and groom. Outside you can create a light setup with coloured LED projectors or hot light, illuminations with skies or led tunnel to design a more elegant style.

Or you can choose vintage abatjour combined with lampshades of different shapes and materials, to define a more country style.

If the location is indoors, however, the constraints are determined by the structure. For this reason, in an internal space, it is advisable to choose lighting with LED projectors to enhance the architecture of the location. The dinner tables can then be illuminated with battery-powered lamps or candles.

Where possible, it is very suggestive to use suspended structures to set up the lighting, like a LED sky that usually matches any type of environment. If the ceiling is rustic with wooden beams, vintage light can be used.

A perfect light design, the details to take care

In a wedding, the details to be exalted with the lighting are infinite, but there are some that can not do without perfect lights, such as the moment of cutting the cake. The other details to take care of, for amazing light design, are the enhancement of the internal and external elements present in the location, nature and vegetation outside the location, like suggestive centenarian trees that become a perfect setting for the preparation of the wedding favour and the “confettata” table.

Very important is also the setup of the dance area and party with coloured spotlights, platforms and benches cocktail-bar bright.

The cake cutting and the lights

As we said, the cutting of the cake requires a detailed study of the service lights, which can be done together with the wedding planner and the bride and groom. To create the magic effect, the most important thing is to use white lights.

You can also shoot fireworks. What is important is to develop a background that creates depth for the photos, so as to facilitate the work of the photographer. To do this, you can use ground-based projectors that illuminate the surrounding vegetation, but also micro-led rains to create a more magical atmosphere.

Tunnel fairy lights

As in all sectors, wedding lighting also varies according to current trends. The most chosen styles are two: sky lighting and elegant vintage style.

As for the lighting with a sky or a tunnel of fairy lights (depending on the type of tables and their placement), the result is a magical setting that projects spouses and guests in a surreal world.

2020 trend for wedding lighting

In 2020, although the season is distorted by the Covid emergency, the trend is an elegant vintage style. The imperial tables are invaded by old-style bulbs of various shapes and sizes that fall from above, at various heights and distances, as if it were a rain of lights. To create the right lighting, we use amber LED lamps.

Creating the right atmosphere for marriage is fundamental. Thanks to the light design you will feel like living the spaces of the location in a different way. So after sunset, the wedding will light up with glittering lights, creating a “wow” effect among all the guests.
